All teams go through having to lose a great player on the field due to injury for two to three weeks. For the Dallas Cowboys it surprisingly just now happened . Alan ball just might have to be the starting safety because of Ken Hamlin being out or the next 4-6 weeks.

"We haven't decided exactly what were going to do", Phillips said. "We want to discuss some things and see where we are injury-wise...there is a good possibility we could do a lot of things".

Pat Summitt

She" is Pat Head Summitt, head coach of the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteer basketball team, who entered the stratosphere of collegiate coaching when she recorded her 1,000th career win during the 2008-09 season. Summitt, who is entering her 36th season at the helm of the Lady Vols, has a 1,005-193 overall record and raises the bar in the collegiate basketball world every time she steps out on the court.

The incomparable Summitt has built collegiate basketball's "hoopdom" at Tennessee. A program developed tirelessly, diligently and successfully by Summitt, her staff and the 156 student-athletes who have been fortunate enough to don the Orange & White jerseys of the Tennessee Lady Volunteers.

Summitt, already the all-time winningest coach in NCAA basketball history (men or women), will enter the 2009-10 campaign with eight NCAA Championships in the trophy case including her most recent back-to-back titles in 2007 and 2008.

A brief synopsis of Summitt's resume goes like this: A consummate taskmaster, she has kept her elite program in the winner's circle for almost four decades, producing a mind-boggling record of 1,005-193 (.839). During her tenure, the Lady Vols have won eight NCAA titles, as well as 27 Southeastern Conference tournament and regular season championships. Tennessee has made an unprecedented 28 consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament and produced 12 Olympians, 19 Kodak All-Americans named to 33 teams, 72 All-SEC performers, 46 international participants and 43 professional players representing the ABL, WNBA or overseas teams. Along with the success on the court, Summitt's student-athletes have tremendous productivity in the classroom. Coach Summitt has a 100 percent graduation rate for all Lady Vols who have completed their eligibility at Tennessee.

She'll Tell You - It's All About the Players

Throughout the years, Summitt has reached numerous goals and worn many hats at the University of Tennessee as a student, an educator and a coach. She'll be the first to tell you that her success is due to the players who have represented Lady Vol basketball since she came on board as the head coach as a 22-year old in 1974. And today, it is still safe to say that she is an educator and role model to her players, a student of the ever-changing game, and one of the most successful women's basketball coaches in the nation.

Patriots Vs Colts

Last night (November 15, 2009) The New England Patriots housed their game against the Indianapolis Colts. The game started out looking like it would end up as another win for the ever so popular Patriots. However, the Colts decided that they would not make things such an easy ride for them. As the score turned 14-34 (patriots) everyone thought that the game was over. It was fourth quarter with 37 seconds to go, patriots had possesion of the football. 4th and 2, needless to say everyone thought it was going to be a punted ball, therefore holding a good defense and winning the game. But the patriots coach (Belechick) went for the yards. Not getting them made the game do a complete 180 turn. The Colts scored and ended up beating New England by 1. the ending score, 35-34 Colts.

Last Volleyball Game

This week in my blog i decided to do something a little different. I am gonna talk about the Central Baptist College Lady Mustangs, volleyball team. All of the team members put up a fight during the last game on November 2, 2009. Playing in Walnut Ridge against Williams Baptist Eagles. Going only three games with the eagles the mustangs put up quite a fight with the match scores of 25-22, 25-20, & 25-19. The mustangs had played Williams earlier in the year and played outstandingly better this time around.

Opening Up the Season

The NBA season kicked off by the Boston Celtics and Cleavland Caveliers facing off. Paul Pierce was definitely the player to look at this game, with 23 points Pierce made two crucial jumpers and two free throws in the final 1:03 to pace the Celtics, whose drive to a second straight title was thrown off when Garnett injured his knee late last season. Rasheed Wallace, added as a free agent during the off season, had 12 points. James scored 38 and O'Neal added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Cavaliers, who won their first 23 home games last season but are already 0-1 on their floor. Boston's road win also snapped a 16-game winning streak at home in games between the Celtics and Cavaliers. Because of the 14-time All-Star O'Neal's addition, the Cavaliers have gotten the bulk of the preseason attention and are a great pick to win their first NBA title.

A-Rod Makes it Happen

A two-run homer over the left-field fence that silenced an excited Anaheim crowd in the fifth, Rodriguez drove in a run in his eighth straight postseason game, tying the major league record. It was his fifth homer in New York's seven postseason games, matching Reggie Jackson's iconic 1977 effort for the second-most homers in a single playoff year for the Yankees. Bernie Williams holds the New York record with six homers in 1996, but that mark seems ripe to be toppled by A-Rod in the first phenomenal postseason for a superstar who mostly sputtered in October until now. Rodriguez also singled and scored New York's first run in the fourth, and he doubled and scored on an error in the ninth to cap his do-it-all day. After playing 24 innings over hours and making a coast-to-coast flight over the previous three days, both teams needed a no-nonsense victory. Sabathia came through for the Yankees, providing rest for New York's taxed bullpen while further frustrating Los Angeles' lineup, which is foundering in the playoffs after an outstanding regular season. The Yankees will hopefully take on the phillies in there next round of play to keep on track for there hopeful World Series victory.

Giants ruin Cowboys house-warming party..

....NFL fans had there televsion sets fixed to the Giants vs. Cowboys game this sunday night. Maybe it was because these two teams were seeded as the top two NFC teams in the past two seasons, or my guess...the brand new Dallas stadium. With record numbers there were 102,000 people there cheering on there favorite team. Lots of eyes were ste upon Dallas to come out with a victory. But Giants decided that were not just gonna lay down and take the defeat. They cam back at the end of the 4th quarter and ended up winning 33-31 no one expected this out-come but I guess that is what makes sports so interesting is that it is never a for sure thing, you have to work for every single win!
